A Challenge to Students

We are not sent to preach sociology but salvation; not economics but evangelism; not reform but redemption; not culture but conversion; not progress but pardon; not a new social order but a new birth; not revolution but regeneration; not renovation but revival; not resuscitation but resurrection; not a new organization but a new creation; not democracy but the gospel; not civilization but Christ; we are ambassadors, not diplomats.
~Hugh Thomson Kerr
I often hear people saying they want to know God’s will for their lives. It’s something, at some point, we all ponder…”What am I here for?” If you haven’t asked yourself that question yet, believe me, it’s coming.

A few weeks ago, I talked about making the responsible decision. I accept responsibility for my past. I control my thoughts. I control my emotions. I am responsible for my success. The buck stops here.
I think that for many of us, we have to do that, with God’s help and the strength that comes from the Holy Spirit, before we can be open enough to hear the answer to “What am I here for?”
As we move past our past, we can look forward and strive for the next decision, Seek Wisdom. In seeking wisdom, we make a priority of spending time with God and as we do, we learn 3 facts about His will.

1. God’s will encompasses your choices
God will put the desire in your heart to do what He has planned for you.

2. God guides those who are busy now
Find out what you can do now, then get busy doing it!
It’s much easier for God to guide a moving vessel.

3. It is a life of FAITH
Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)

6 And it is impossible to please God without faith.
Anyone who wants to come to him must believe
that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Get serious about God and all He has for you. Stop waiting for some amazing lightning bolt to light up your sky and then you’ll know God is present in your life. Whether that ever happens or not, the one thing I know FOR SURE is that God is with you right now. In the middle of your mess. In the middle of your big win. In the middle of your trial. He is with you!
